A cylindrical cardboard container labeled "Heatwave" from "The Feedlot" is centered in the image, placed on a textured brown background that resembles sand or finely ground spices. The branding, featuring Aleppo pepper and Bird's Eye chili, suggests it may contain a fiery food seasoning blend.
A brown paper package with a round label reading "Heatwave by The Feedlot." The label highlights a blend of spices, including ghost peppers and Aleppo pepper, describing the flavor as a combination of sweet and spicy with a smoky finish. The package rests on a cork surface.

Cooking Tips

Like spice?  This is your rub!  Pork ribs, prawns, salmon, chicken pair beautifully with Heatwave.  Try skirt steak tacos, sprinkle some on corn on the cob or even toss a little on roasted sweet potato!

Ingredients

natural sugar, salt, porcini mushrooms, aleppo pepper, onion, pepper, garlic, mustard, smoked paprika, bird's eye chili

Ingredient Fun Fact

Aleppo pepper is a unique chili pepper that is grown in Syria and Turkey.  Also known as the Halaby pepper, it starts as pods, which ripen to a burgundy colour, and then are semi-dried, de-seeded, then crushed or coarsely ground. This unique pepper is a highly desirable variety of chilli, popular for its warm, fruity flavour and mild chilli bite.  To accompany the rub and give it the big kick of heat, we have incorporated Bird's Eye chili which weighs in at 100,000 Scoville units.  Also know as a Thai chili, this spicy pepper is commonly used throughout Ethipoia and Southeast Asia bring a real punch to any dish!

Name Origin

What's a Feedlot without a Heatwave?  Those hot Texas summers bring consistent heat coming in at over 40 degrees for months at a time.  Between the spice, the colour of the rub and those long hot summers, we couldn't think of a better name.
