Cooking Tips

Crossbreed combines salt forward Cattle Call and pepper forward Black Angus providing the perfect balance.  We find ourselves using this on various cuts of beef such as hamburgers, steak, brisket and beef short ribs.  You can also branch out with lamb, venison, buffalo and eggs.  Use liberally and enjoy!

salt, pepper, porcini mushrooms, garlic, smoked paprika, urfa biber, pasilla, mustard, red pepper, onion, coffee, thyme

Ingredient Fun Fact

Often regarded as the world's most popular spice, paprika is made from the dried, ground, mature fruit of Capsicum Annuum. It is often associated with Hungarian and Spanish cuisine, but it actually originated in central Mexico. This smoked paprika powder has a robust smoky flavour with sweet notes of capsicum and is a deep red colour.

Crossbreed: To produce (an animal or plant) by mating or hybridizing two different species, breeds, or varieties.  With that definition in mind, we decided to mix our two best selling rubs - Cattle Call and Black Angus and made our own Crossbreed.

    Perfection

    Met the Feedlot crew at meatstock years ago. Was highly impressed by the natural ingredients and great flavours.

    I used to be against putting rubs on steaks (and anything not being smoked) and turned my nose up at the idea.

    Now I wouldn’t have a steak, or veggies, or chicken or lamb without one of the many Feedlot rubs.

    Absolute game changer and I love the attention to detail and customer service they are founded on.

    Feedlot Crossbreed is next-level. 🤩

    Perfect on an MB4 Wagyu tomahawk – it enhances the marbling without overpowering the natural flavor. A must-have rub for premium cuts or rumps!

    Fantastic crossbreed

    This is my 4th packet of crossbreed and I absolute love it, Its perfect on just about any cut of meat.

    Crossbreed was made for brisket.

    It’s rich, savoury, and brings out that deep bark you want in a low-and-slow cook. I used it on a full packer brisket and it held up perfectly—flavour all the way through.
