Heatwave Honey Prawns

Sweet. Spicy. Smoky. These prawns are the perfect quick BBQ cook for a warm evening or as a standout appetiser. Our Heatwave rub brings a proper kick, balanced with sticky honey and char from the grill. Ready in under 15 minutes — yes, really.


Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined (tails on if you like the look)

  • 2 tbsp The Feedlot Heatwave rub

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Lime wedges, to serve (optional)


Method

  1. Prep the prawns – Pat the prawns dry with paper towel. This helps them sear instead of steam.

  2. Marinate – In a bowl, toss prawns with Heatwave rub, honey, and olive oil until evenly coated.

  3. Grill – Heat your BBQ or grill pan to medium-high. Grill prawns for 1–2 minutes per side, until they turn bright pink and slightly charred.

  4. Serve – Plate up immediately with rice and fresh lime wedges for a citrusy kick.
